Alexandrite Laser Rod for Candela (Refurbished)

This is a refurbishment service for Candela Alexandrite rods and Nd-Yag rods which are used in the GentleLase, GentleMAX, GentleYag, Mini and PRO series.

Over time and use the reflective coatings on the laser rod ends get worn out which significantly reduces the efficiency and power output of your laser cavity and essentially the performance of your laser system. Other types of damage include water damage like excessive pressure build up or leak in the chamber, dust particles entering the chamber, laser rod barrel contamination and mishandling, accidental chipping of the rods ends/edge.

The refurbishment process includes cleaning of the laser rod from any contaminants and resurfacing the optical coatings according to manufacturer specs. Candela uses two types of optical coatings for their Alexandrite and Nd-Yag laser rods. High Reflectance (mirror) and Partial Reflectance (output coupler) coatings.

This service applies only to laser rods that can be refurbished that is worn out, contaminated, chipped/scratched. If your rod has been broken in half or more pieces then it cannot be refurbished.

Laser rods are very fragile so they must be handled with extreme care. You should never touch the rod coating flat sides with bare hands to avoid contamination and you should never apply adhesive tapes on the rod. When shipping the rod it must be carefully wrapped in optical cleaning tissue/paper and packed in well paddled box.

Turnaround time once the rod is received and damage assessed is 2-3 weeks.

Refurbished rods are like new condition and offer the same level of performance like new at a fraction of the price.
